Tour Overview

Samburu National Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northen frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the masai. Samburu reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape; the Ewesso Nyiro river runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu game reserve and is home to crocodile and Hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Samburu safari may offer sighting of buffalo,lion, leopard, cheetah and other plains game. Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the Beisa Oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and the Blue shanked Somali Ostrich.

Itineraries

Day 1 - Nairobi To Samburu National Reserve

Pick up from Hotel/Residential place at 0700hrs and drive north to Samburu National Reserve arriving at around 1400hrs in the for lunch and check in. After relaxation head out for an afternoon game drive in the park famous for it’s special ‘Five’ species that are adaptive to this region and they include; the Reticulated giraffe, the Grevy’s zebra, Gerenuk, and Be is a Oryx also other game animals include Elephant, lion, Leopard, , cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species with the rooftop of the car opened.

Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 - Samburu National Reserve Long Day

Game drive in the park where guests will depart with picnic lunch and get to see various Wide-open grass plains and, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species with the rooftop of the car opened for great views and photography. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 - Samburu To Nairobi

Optional morning drive for a chance to spot the early morning kill from the big five, after the drive return to the camp for the main breakfast, thereafter leave and head back to Nairobi which is an approximate 5/6 hrs with a stop over in Nanyuki for lunch. Arrive in Nairobi late afternoon with drop off to your hotel or at the Airport
