Tour Overview

Samburu National Game Reserve is situated in the hot and arid fringes of Kenya’s vast Northen frontier District. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, pastoral relatives of the masai. Samburu reserve as a safari destination has rugged and dramatic landscape; the Ewesso Nyiro river runs along the southern boundary dividing Samburu game reserve and is home to crocodile and Hippo with the many animals visiting to drink during the heat of the day. Samburu safari may offer sighting of buffalo,lion, leopard, cheetah and other plains game. Species of game unique to Samburu game reserve include the Beisa Oryx, the long necked Gerenuk, Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and the Blue shanked Somali Ostrich.

Itineraries

Day 1 - Nairobi/ Samburu National Reserve

Welcome to 3 days safari with Moran Tours and Safaris  to Samburu.

6:30 am – Pick up from Hotel/Residential place

Guests will be picked up at the airport / Respective Hotel within Nairobi by the stipulated company vehicle where the tour will begin.

7:00 am – 1:30 pm – Drive to Samburu

Guests will drive towards Samburu where they will check in at the hotel and have well prepared lunch.

3.00 pm – 6.00 pm- Game drive in the Samburu (Buffalo springs)

Game drive in the park where guests will get to see various Wide-open grass plains scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species with the rooftop of the car opened for great views and photography.

7.30 pm – 8.30 pm – Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge

Guests will be served dinner in buffet style where the enjoy various delicacies well prepared by the hotel and relax from long journey.

Day 2 - Samburu Long Day

7.30 am – Breakfast

Guests will be served breakfast in buffet style with various delicacies prepared by the hotel.

 8.00 am -12.00 Noon  – Morning hour game drive

Game drive in the park where guests will depart with picnic lunch and get to see various Wide-open grass plains and, scattered acacia bush play host to a wide variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, buffaloes, giraffes and diverse birdlife with over 400 species with the rooftop of the car opened for great views and photography.

12.00 Noon – 2.00 pm – Lunch

Guests will stop at the designated area recommended by the driver/ guide to enjoy lunch that will be served as picnic lunch and relax as await afternoon game drives.

5.00 pm – drive back to the hotel

Guests will now head back to hotel at their respective hotel where they will relax and await dinner to be served at the hotel.

7.30 pm – 8.00 pm – Dinner and Overnight at the Lodge

Guests will be served dinner in buffet style with a variety of meals prepared

Day 3 - SAMBURU NATIONAL GAME RESERVE TO NAIROBI

7.30 am – Breakfast

Guests will be served breakfast in buffet style with various delicacies prepared by the hotel.

8.00 am – 9.00 am – Cultural visit

Guests will be driven to the famous Samburu  Cultural village where guests enjoy an educative session on the lifestyle of the Maasai. From the education to the daily lifestyle and cultural dances of the Samburu.

10.00 am – Depart for Nairobi

Drive back to Nairobi which is an approximate 5/6 hrs. drive and be dropped back to the respective hotel/ airport to take the scheduled flight.
